Joomla 3.0 update will not be shown by default in the auto updates of your Joomla website and only Joomla 2.5.x updates will be shown.Users who choose Joomla 3.0 will have to update their websites to Joomla 3.1 and then to Joomla 3.5 as soon as they become available. The support for Joomla 3.0 will end one month after the release of Joomla 3.1.

Must Know About Joomla 3.0 Mobile CMS

Posted August 17th, 2012 in Joomla 3.0 Templates by admin

As the Joomla 3.0 is coming and expected to be released in the last week of September 2012. People, especially Joomla webmasters need to be aware of this revolutionary release.

What is New in Joomla 3.0:

Joomla 3 is the first major CMS that supports Mobile devices. This makes the Joomla 3 a historic release and a major step towards the mobile CMS platform development, which will force all other CMS to respond to this release.

Who Should Use Joomla 3:

Remember Joomla 3 is not for everyone. As we have already discussed this is a major release with a new concept and design. Every new software release has some minor bugs and issues so it is advised not to migrate your already existing Joomla websites to this new version. However, you may start designing your new websites in Joomla 3, this minimizes your risk.

Should I Migrate from Joomla 2.5 to Joomla 3?

The answer is no. Joomla 2.5 is a LTS (Long term support release) and will be supported till 2014. Joomla 3 contrary to Joomla 2.5 is a short term support release which just lasts for six months after its release. We advise your not to rush and migrate your websites. Instead you can migrate your websites to the next Long term Support release i.e. Joomla 3.5 which is supposed to be released in September 2013.

If you are a developer or a webmaster, you should make your customers aware of Joomla 3.0. This message should reach to the 16 million Joomla website owners, which is only possible if everyone contributes.
